Bio
Jen Ray is a multidisciplinary artist from Southern California. She works in watercolor, contemporary embroidery, gouache, and acrylic painting. Her work is rooted in a deep appreciation for nature, often focusing on botanical themes and the intricate relationships between humans, animals, and the natural world. Jen explores the dynamic intersection of femininity, strength, and nature through her art, frequently depicting female figures whose gaze embodies power and grace.
She has a B.A. in Fine Arts and a B.A. in Psychology from Claremont McKenna College with a semester in Florence, Italy studying art history.
Other courses she’s enjoyed are commercial photography, creative color photography, and European decorative arts at UCLA.
Before becoming an artist, she spent her career in corporate branding, enhancing the images of some of the world's biggest brands, such as Apple, Cisco, and Hewlett Packard as the owner of a marketing agency in Silicon Valley. Before that, she was a fabric designer.
Mentoring other artists and passing on her years of entrepreneurial experience brings her joy. She is committed to keeping the arts thriving.
Jen supports the non-profit, ArtReach in San Diego.
